It includes information on unemployment insurance, health benefits, job resources, and a live Q&A with EDD representatives from the Workforce Services Branch. The Workforce & Economic Development Program (WED) of the California Labor Federation assists unions in providing Rapid Response orientations for laid off workers.

Rapid Response services include:

  1. Information and assistance on Unemployment Insurance from EDD.

  2. Guidance on healthcare post layoff - Covered California, Medicare, and Cobra.

  3. Financial preparedness, resume writing, and job search assistance.

  4. Information on food drives, housing assistance, and other hardship aid near you.

  5. Access to job training and education.

  6. Customized services and resources.
